Year 6 Weekly Review (15.11.24)

mbird218

Morning everybody and happy Friday!

Another great week this week with lots of great work coming from it. Below, we look at the great week we have had and the action packed week ahead.

Weekly Review

Today we took part in a Day Of Action, linked with the organisation Common Seas. Children have been looking at the effect plastic pollution is having on our planet and ways in which we can remedy this issue. The children showed great understanding and passion for the topic. In Science, the children began work on their new unit of Evolution and Inheritance. We studied DNA and genetics and how they shape us as we develop. In PE, we have continued working on Hockey and Fitness. I'm sure there is a few achy bodies today and that's just the staff..!!

.Next Week:

  • Year 5/6 Boy's Football Match - Tuesday 19th November

  • Duxford Trip - Thursday 21st November: Children need to be in school by 8am and we are due to return at 4pm. Full uniform with comfortable trainers for walking in.

  • INSET DAY - Friday 22nd November: Enjoy the day off!

Homework and Spellings:

A slight drop off from last half term for children accessing their homework on SATs companion. As mentioned in parent evening appointments, it is important that children are engaging with their homework to support them on their academic journey. This week's spellings are below:

  • restaurant

  • hindrance

  • desperate

  • mischievous

  • community

  • physical

  • excellent

  • sufficient

  • attached

  • yacht

Have a lovely weekend!
