Morning everyone and a happy new year to you all! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas break; it has been great hearing all about the children's time off! We have had a super first 4 days back in class, with some brilliant learning taking place already this term! New units have begun including: Handball and Gymnastics in our PE lessons, Extreme Earth Events in Geography, Newspaper Writing in English and Algebra in Maths. It is great to see the classes have picked up where they left off last term with superb effort and enthusiasm across the curriculum!
Homework: A reminder that we expect homework to be done each week by our children. THis includes:
4 reads logged on Boom Reader
SATs Companion assignments completed
Weekly Spelling practice
A massive well done to all those children who completed more than 10 reads over Christmas - 10 Dojos have been delivered to you!
Other Reminders: A few other things to remind you of as we start the new term:
Please ensure your child is coming into school with a coat and water bottle each day.
Our PE day is on Thursday - please ensure your child has PE kit suitable for the cold outside weather
On the week beginning 20.1.25, we will be having our next mock SATs week in order to prepare the children for the main event in the Summer Term. As always, we are doing this to 'prepare - not scare' the children. We look forward to seeing the huge progress they have made since our October Mocks!
No big events happening this week so there are no dates to remind you of. Have a great week!
